Hack4Climate is an intensive 2-day program culminating in a blockchain hackathon and datathon held at the Yale-NUS College in Singapore. Jointly organized by the Yale-NUS Data Science Society and the Yale-NUS Blockchain society, Hack4Climate is the first climate focused blockchain hackathon of its kind.

Open to all students currently enrolled in an educational institution in Singapore, Hack4Climate is committed to identifying thought leaders of tomorrow who are both socially conscious and technically capable.

To that end, generous prizes worth up to $2,500 will be provided to winning teams that have demonstrated their ability to a distinguished panel of judges comprising current industry leaders. Besides providing an opportunity to test your coding prowess, Hack4Climate is a personal development opportunity not to be missed. With multiple workshops on Ethereum and software engineering as well as fireside chats for participants to mingle with industry leaders, there is something for everyone.

Yale-NUS Data Science Society is a data literacy club founded by Yale-NUS College students in 2016. Our organisation serves as a platform for students interested or adept in data science to explore the topic with greater depth, providing students with the resources, community and confidence to produce predictions, analyses and conclusions from various datasets. Our club welcomes members from all majors, with Anthropology and Urban Studies majors as part of the leadership. We seek to interest people of all backgrounds.

This semester, we are piloting a Data Science Research Group

Headed by Gideon Lee, Class of 2021 (Physics Major, Mathematics Minor), it seeks to engage students with research interests in Data Science, allowing students to get mutual feedback on personal projects or team projects with distinguished faculty members. We also are seeking to work with the industry to provide insightful data analysis. If you are interested in partnering with us, please email gideon.lee@u.yale-nus.edu.sg.
